BALTIMORE — On Tuesday, more than a hundred kids set sail on a pirate cruise at the Inner Harbor.

The Casey Cares Foundation teamed up with Urban Pirates and the Downtown Sailing Center to treat the kids and their families to a day at sea with pirate characters and an adventurous treasure hunt. Older kids were able to go out on private sailboats with their families.

"The kids they deserve to have fun. They deserve to be able to do some fun activities and stuff for everything that they have been through," said Erin Ritter, Deputy Associate Director. "Our children have been diagnosed with all different kinds of critical illnesses, so the opportunity to get together to take a break from the hospital visits and treatments and just have a day out on the water meeting other families going through similar circumstances and just have a day filled with positive memories is so important for our families."

The kids and their families also kept cool with Kona Ice.
