BALTIMORE, Md. — Doctors and Dietitians held a protest outside the McDonald's on West Baltimore Street on Friday.

They were demanding the fast food restaurant remove bacon from its menu. The protestors held signs that said "I'm riskin' it" and "Hashtag break-up with bacon" and "Bacon causes butt cancer" with carefully placed McDonald's M's.

While bacon may be delicious to some, the World Health Organization recently announced that it can increase you risk of colon cancer.

"Even a few slices of bacon a day or a single hot dog a day can increase your risk of cancer, colorectal cancer by 18-percent as well as associations with pancreatic cancer, as well as other cancers. So, I unfortunately could not, you know, ideally cut it out," said Dr. Pinar Miski.

The doctors and dietitians also handed out educational resources and cancer screening kits during their demonstration.
