Several Baltimore City Fire and BGE crews responded to an underground fire in downtown Sunday night.

Fire officials say they were originally called to a gas leak in the area of W. Lombard and Charles Streets. When they got to the scene, they discovered it was an underground electrical fire.

Several streets were blocked off including W. Lombard Street, spanning from Light and Charles Streets, between W. Pratt and W. Baltimore Streets.

This also happens to be the same area that was shut down a few months ago for another electrical fire

It is unclear what caused the fire as the incident remains under investigation.
