BGE crews headed south to help restore power following Hurricane Matthew are being told to stand by.
Nearly 200 employees were scheduled to leave for Florida and Georgia Friday morning to provide emergency assistance for an expected one million outages in the area.
Workers were told by the local utility company that there are fewer power outages in the area than expected—an estimated 200,000—and crews aren’t currently needed.
BGE crews advised to stand down for now. Not needed in FL at this time. 1 mil outages expected, "only" 200,000 right now #GMM @ABC2NEWS
