Four-alarm fire in Baltimore forces department to call for extra crews

BALTIMORE — Baltimore Fire crews are at the scene of three separate fires in the city on Thursday evening.

According to fire officials, crews were dispatched to battle a four-alarm fire at a mattress warehouse on the 1100 block of Madison Street. They say the fire involved the city's only heavy rescue, including 13 engines, 6 trucks, and multiple support units.

While crews worked on the Madison Street fire, fire crews were then called to extinguish a fire at 2803 Dukeland Street.

Moments later, additional units were dispatched to another fire in Northwest Baltimore.

Fire officials have requested assistance from Anne Arundel County, Howard County, and Baltimore County to aid in the three reported fires in the city.
