Arc Baltimore hosts 18th annual 'Art in the Round' on Friday

BALTIMORE — Friday night at the Grand Lodge of Maryland in Hunt Valley, the Arc Baltimore hosted its 18th annual 'Art in the Round', showcasing the talent and artistry of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

The art exhibit and auction featured 60 pieces created by dozens of artists.

"Like anyone else, art is part of this community, its a part of fulfilling somebodies dreams in life its also part of just expressing who you are and who you are in this world," said Kathleen Durkin, CEO of the Arc Baltimore. "Whether they have a disability or not, its all the same so we're thrilled to be able to showcase the art of someone with a disability is phenomenal and just like anybody else's as I said is outstanding."

More than 400 guests attended the exhibit and auction. Proceeds help support art classes, workshops and other programs.

Featured artists receive 60 percent of the winning bid for each piece of art sold.
