One man was injured in a fire at the Frederick Douglass Apartments in the 1600 block of Calhoun Street early Wednesday morning.
Crews were dispatched at 4 a.m. to find smoke coming from the third floor of the apartment building. Firefighters made entry into the location and found smoke and visible fire coming from a third floor apartment.
They were able to contain the fire, but smoke spread throughout the third floor, fire officials said.
One man was taken to University of Maryland Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
No one was displaced.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
