Stolen vehicle crashes into utility pole near BWI

Stolen vehicle leads to crash near BWI Sunday.

On Sunday around 6:00 a.m. officers of the Maryland Department of Transportation Authority received a hit on a stolen vehicle in Baltimore County.

 About 30 minutes later, an officer was outside the station when they recognized the vehicle based on the description pass through.

Officials say that officer then activated police lights and began traveling in the direction of the vehicle.

The officer pursued the vehicle which ended in a crash at 6:31 a.m.

The crash occurred when the vehicle struck a utility pole at Elm and Terminal Road causing both the driver and passenger to be ejected.

The driver is listed in serious condition and passenger is in stable condition at University of Maryland Shock Trauma.
