UPDATE (10:14pm):
The person who was injured was a midshipman.
Concerns were raised after posts were placed on the Jodel social media platform by a midshipman who had been removed from the Academy. At the time, those posts placed that individual in a different part of the country and not on campus.
The midshipman who was shot by security forces mistook them for the shooter because of misinformation that an active shooter on campus was dressed as a police or security officer.
The midshipman was shot by security personnel after having struck a security officer with a parade rifle. The midshipman was shot in the arm.
