Motorcyclist dead after crash on Crain Highway

GAMBRILLS, Md. (WMAR) - Officers were dispatched to the scene of a deadly crash involving a motorcyclist that was struck by a minivan Thursday evening around 5:00 p.m. on Crain Highway.

According to officials, the driver of a Yamaha motorcycle was crossing northbound and believed to be speeding on the highway when it was struck by a Toyota minivan that was also traveling northbound.

Officers at the scene say the minivan had a small child in the vehicle that was transported by helicopter to a nearby children's hospital with injuries.

The driver if the motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene. Officers are still investigating the incident.
