Man arrested after allegedly stabbing and killing woman inside Glen Burnie home

GLEN BURNIE, Md. — A 32-year-old woman was killed after allegedly being stabbed by a man who she lived with in Glen Burnie.

On Sunday at about 12:21 a.m., the Anne Arundel County Police Department responded to the 5800 block of Larsen Street in Glen Burnie for a stabbing.

When officers arrived, they found the suspect, identified as 52-year-old Timothy Paul Gough with apparent blood on him outside the home.

Patrol units quickly detained Gough without incident. Patrol Officers responded inside the home and found a woman victim suffering from apparent sharp force injuries.

The victim, identified as 32-year-old Shannon Nicole Sauter, was taken to an area hospital but later died from her injuries.

Homicide detectives responded with the Evidence Collection Unit to process the crime scene. Through witness/suspect interviews detectives learned Gough and Sauter lived together and had been involved in a relationship.

Police say during the evening an altercation occurred in which Gough began assaulting Sauter. A witness tried to intervene at which time Gough began to stab the victim.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner performed an autopsy of Sauter and ruled her cause of death as multiple sharp force injuries with the manner being homicide.

Homicide detectives charged Gough with First and Second Degree Murder. He is currently at the Anne Arundel County Jennifer Road Detention Center on a no bond status.
