PASADENA, Md. — Some friends are stepping up to help after a wife's world was torn to pieces.
It comes after her husband tried to kill her, Before turning the gun on himself.
Now, Christy Borck is in shock trauma and her four children are anxiously waiting for her to come home.
Early Friday morning, Matthew Borck shot his wife Christy and then killed himself. The bullet did not hit her brain, but did catch her skull.
Christy and Matt had two children of their own and one each from a previous marriage. Now friends have set up a GoFundMe page for her.
"You know, medical bills rack up very fast and the last thing I want her to worry about is having any kind of debt or worry about any kind of bills," said friend Shannon Neidhardt. "We're working on a meal train delivery for her family. My high school is working for a donation pilates class. A lot of people have bridged together and asked for ways to help."
With the hospitals in COVID restrictions, Shannon was looking ways to let her friend know people are thinking of her and her family.
"I thought this was a real good way to get everybody some kind of connection to be able help her," she said.
This is a difficult time for Christy to be in the shock trauma, her kids need her now more than ever. Her vision and some movement is coming back, a good sign for all concerned.
"We're also ready trying to get them back to school. So there is a lot of stuff going on right now and just taking everything day by day."
