Snow preps were well underway in Anne Arundel County by Friday afternoon.
County Executive Steve Schuh spoke about the preparations at the emergency operation center in Glen Burnie, which was fully operational starting at 3 p.m. Friday.
He said 600 people and 240 snow plows will be hard at work clearing roadways and keeping the county safe during the storm. About 13,000 tons of salt are stockpiled and ready to treat the roads.
"I would encourage citizens to stay off the roads. Let our crews do their work. Keep the roads clear," Schuh said.
