Annapolis police started a new program Thursday. Officers hit the street to give people information to keep them from driving drunk - before they every got behind the wheel.

Officers offered free breathalyzer tests in the middle of Cinco de Mayo.  They're calling it the "know your limit" program.

"People aren't aware of how many drinks it takes to reach the legal limit. And you know everyone's different," said Cpl. Amy Miguez. "How much you eat, the time between drinks, how big the drink is."

The officers are giving them a chance to find their limit and find alternatives to driving if they need them. It was all in a non-confrontational environment.

Police will also have extra officers on patrol throughout the night looking for drivers who didn't get the message.
