An elderly man was found unconscious on the shoulder of southbound I-97 near Crownsville Road, according to Anne Arundel County Police.
Police say the man, now identified as 81-year-old William Howard of Joppa, Md., was discovered by a Maryland State Trooper around 3:50 a.m. Monday. Medics arrived on the scene and pronounced the victim dead.
Howard's wife reported him missing to the Bel Air Maryland State Police around 1:35 a.m. Monday. Officers say they found the man's body near his car.
No foul play is suspected. An investigation shows he died of natural causes.
