TIMONIUM, Md — The Maryland State Fairgrounds and Gerber's Trash Removal teamed up to help a local Earth Day clean-up event in Timonium.

This is the Dreaper Earth Day Clean-up's second year. Volunteers cleared litter and debris in wooded areas near Padonia Road and along the Goodwin Run stream.

"All the kids in the neighborhood love to play back here in the stream, and we've hung some streams but there's runoff that comes from York Road and feeds directly into the stream," said Kristen Dreaper, resident and founder of the clean-up event. "There's a ton of plastic that is continuously dumped into the stream."

The Maryland State Fairgrounds and Gerber's Trash Removal provided a 20-yard dumpster, garbage bags, water and extra volunteers.
