WASHINGTON — A suspect shot by Secret Service outside the White House Monday, has been identified as a 51-year-old Maryland man.
Officials say Myron Basil Berryman, of Forestville, told an officer standing at 17th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue N.W., that he had a weapon.
Berryman reportedly ran aggressively at the officer, while pulling something from his clothing, as if he was going to draw down.
Secret Service say he crouched down into a shooter's stance, making it look like he was going to fire.
The officer reacted by shooting Berryman in the torso.
He's since been charged with aggravated assault on a police officer.
