LEONARDTOWN, Md. — Tropical Storm Isaias brought several confirmed tornadoes to Maryland last Tuesday, leaving thousands of buildings damaged and without power.

Leonardtown in St. Mary’s County was one of the hardest hit.

They received 7.5 inches of rain and reported the only storm related death, when a tree fell on top a car trapping the driver on Three Notch Road.

Now in recovery mode, the county has launched an online public dashboard urging residents to report and document property damage caused by the storm.

Officials say the portal will help the County in applying for federal funding through FEMA.

“The information provided gives us valuable data on the storm damage,” said Stephen Walker, Director of the St. Mary’s County Department of Emergency Services. “While we may not meet FEMA's criteria for Individual Assistance, we want to make sure we have as much information as possible to make the case with our state and regional partners.”

To report damage, click here. The deadline is August 14.

The County says reporting damage through the portal is completely separate from filing a claim with your home or business insurance company.
