Police arrest and charge two suspects for July 28 Rosedale murder

ROSEDALE, Md. — Baltimore County Police have arrested and charged two suspects in the July 28 Rosedale murder.

Just after 7 p.m., on July 28, police responded to the 2000 block of Kelbourne Rd., 21237 for a call of a shooting.

The victims, 31-year-old Trevor Hamlet, of the 2000 block of Kelbourne Road, and a second man, were transported to a local hospital. Hamlet succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead, but the second victim was expected to survive his injuries.

On September 30, 32-year-old Lateef Amir Maple, of the 1100 block of Myrtle Avenue, was arrested in connection with the murder of Hamlet, but, as a part of the on-going investigation, Baltimore County Homicide detectives were also able to identify 30-year-old Donwin Rumeal Brooks, of the 2200 block of Linden Avenue, as the second suspect.

Brooks was arrested and charged in connection with Hamlet's murder on Wednesday.

Maple and Brooks were both charged with first-degree murder and various other charges. Maple remains held at the Baltimore County Detention Center on a no bail status and Brooks is held at the Baltimore County Detention Center on a no bail status pending a bail review hearing.
