Driver, truck suspected in deadly I-95 hit and run found in North Carolina

PIKESVILLE, Md. (WMAR) — Police have found the driver and truck suspected in a hit and run, that left a woman dead on I-95 last Thursday in Prince George's County.

The body of 22-year-old Lourdina Hyppolite was discovered on the northbound shoulder near route 198, after someone had noticed her laying there during morning rush hour.

Investigators found auto parts at the scene, and determined Hyppolite was struck and killed by a 2017 Freightliner Cascadia truck.

Following the incident, Maryland State Police received several tips which led detectives to the truck in Greensboro, North Carolina.

Police have not released the driver's name, as no formal charges have been filed yet.
