Hit and run leaves woman dead on shoulder of I-95 during Thursday morning rush hour

COLLEGE PARK, Md. (WMAR) — Maryland State Police are investigating a hit and run that left a woman dead on the shoulder of I-95 during Thursday morning rush hour.

Around 7:30 a.m., someone called 911 after noticing the body while driving along the northbound side near route 198 in Prince George's County.

Arriving troopers found the woman, and called paramedics, who pronounced the woman dead.

Investigators found debris at the scene, and determined the woman was struck and killed by a Freightliner Cascadia truck.

Police are still looking for the driver and truck involved.

Two right northbound lanes are still closed on I-95 while police continue to investigate.
