Community raises $10,000 award for info on suspects who beheaded two dogs in Mechanicsville

MECHANICSVILLE, Md. — After two dogs were found beheaded in a wooded area in Mechanicsville, residents of the St. Mary's County community raised thousands in award money in hopes that someone will be held responsible for the heinous crime.

According to the St. Mary's County Crime Solvers, they received $10,000 in donations from the community.

The animal cruelty incident was reported on July 14 after a Deputy responded to the 40400 block of Parlett Morgan Road in Mechanicsville. The deputy located the body of two Black Labrador Retrievers they say had been decapitated and discarded in the wooded area.
