For those who have been put in jail and their family members, being released can be difficult, but a program here in Maryland is helping that transition.

Re-entry mediation was started in Maryland prisons in 2008 and is considered a national model. It is available in all Maryland state prisons and 11 local detention centers.

Lorig Charkoudian is running 70 miles from Hagerstown to Baltimore to highlight the need for re-entry mediation services.

She joined Kelly Swoope on ABC2's In Focus to discuss her mission.
