BALTIMORE — WMAR is always working for you. Our focus of the 2019 Men’s Health Matters special is to showcase the health and wholeness of the man.

Statistics show that men are less likely to get regular checkups and often don’t visit a doctor’s office unless the women in their lives force them to go get checked out. Our male anchors spent a day outdoors, playing basketball and highlighting the ways to stay healthy, both mentally and physically.

Skyler Henry talked with his trainer about exercise tips to help men get back in shape and sat down with a group of men to have an open and honest dialogue about the stressors and pressures that men face on a daily basis. Christian Schaffer brought us a story about a disease that typically effects young man, testicular cancer. He shares warning signs and treatments that have been very successful. Jamie Costello shares a story of a man who’s fighting off the symptoms of Parkinson’s disease with Rock Steady Boxing at his local YMCA. We also get tips on healthy grilling from chefs at Famous Dave’s and information on cardiovascular health from our sponsors, the Minimally Invasive Vascular Centers.

At any age and at any stage of life, your health matters and we at WMAR hope that our stories spark conversations that lead to actions that lead to your happy healthier life.
