The owner of a Delaware food service company has been sentenced to 23 months in prison for stealing almost $1 million from federal programs to feed low-income school students.
Frank Dolce of Primos Food Service was sentenced last week after pleading guilty in March to tax evasion and theft from the National School Breakfast and Lunch Programs. He was also ordered to pay more than $1.2 million in restitution.
Prosecutors say Primos submitted false reimbursement claims while providing cafeteria services to charter schools in Philadelphia and to the Delaware County Courthouse and Government Center in Media, Pennsylvania.
According to a court filing Monday, a change-of-plea hearing is scheduled next month for former Primos employee Stacy K. Hunter, who was charged in April with tax evasion and food stamp fraud.
