Victim in Columbia double shooting dies; suspect may be facing additional charges

COLUMBIA, Md. — One of the victims in the October 7 Columbia double shooting has died.

Howard County Police stated that they were notified on Friday that 19-year-old D'Marni Ware died as a result of his injuries.

The suspect, 20-year-old Tyquan Leondre Carter, was arrested on October 8 and charged with attempted first-degree murder, but, now that Ware has died, detectives will coordinate with the Howard County State's Attorney's Office to address the appropriate additional charges.

The second victim, 18-year-old Jaiden Marquise Pender, was treated for his injuries and released.

Carter is currently being held at the Howard County Detention Center on no bond.
