SALISBURY, Md. (AP) — Authorities on Maryland’s Eastern Shore say an argument over a possible pregnancy led to shots fired in a store parking lot.

Citing a press release, news outlets report 31-year-old Brian Bouyer and 32-year-old Stephen Carey were arrested Wednesday in Salisbury.

Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office Lt. Tim Robinson says Carey drove Bouyer and a woman to Walmart so the woman could get a pregnancy test. He says Bouyer and the woman got into an argument while leaving the store.

Deputies say Bouyer fired a gun twice. No one was shot. He’s also accused of threatening to kill the woman earlier in the day.

A deputy caught Bouyer and Carey after a chase. Both are facing charges including attempted murder. They’re being held without bond. It’s unclear whether they had attorneys who could comment.
