A McDaniel College student was sexually assaulted on campus early Friday morning, school officials said.
According to a news release, the assault happened around 12:10 a.m. when the woman was walking up the outside steps connecting the old and new sections of Levine Hall.
The victim walked past a man who was sitting on a ledge near the steps who grabbed her hair, hit her and put his hand under her clothes. She fought back, was able to break free and ran off.
