Officer involved in Duke's Motel shooting name released by police

ROSEDALE, Md. — Baltimore County Police have released the name of the officer involved in the shooting of the suspect on July 6 at the Duke’s Motel.

Officer McCampbell is a 20-year veteran currently assigned to Tactical Unit. He has not been involved in any prior shootings.

The shootout began with Baltimore County Police trying to get into 43-year-old Kareem Morgan's room to arrest him. This is when Morgan began shooting at police. Officers then returned fire and Morgan was shot and killed.

Officer McCampbell has been placed on routine administrative leave.
