CATONSVILLE, Md. — Baltimore County Police are trying to locate the driver that is responsible for a Catonsville hit-and-run crash that killed a child and critically injured a pregnant woman.

On Friday, at a little after 9:20 p.m., the suspect vehicle, that was traveling southbound on North Rollling Road, hit a 12-year-old girl and a 32-year-old pregnant woman as they crossed North Rolling Road, at Johnnycake Road. Following the collision, the suspect vehicle made no attempt to stop and continued fleeing in a southerly direction on North Rolling Road.

The woman was taken to an area hospital with life-threatening wounds, but, as of Saturday morning, is in stable condition. The condition of her pregnancy, however, is currently unknown.

The 12-year-old, who has been identified as Maria Popal, was pronounced dead at Sinai Hospital.

At the moment, the suspect vehicle has not been located. It has been described as a dark colored, older model, possibly 1990-1991, Honda Accord that should have damage to its front passenger side.
