Violent weekend in Baltimore City, 3 killed

Posted

Police are searching for a gunman after a deadly shooting in Baltimore City. Monday's shooting happened while it was still light outside and after a violent weekend.

More than 20 evidence markers littered the 1900 block of Baker Street in West Baltimore. Earlier in the same area, police found a 22-year-old man who had been shot and killed. Witnesses said another man shot the victim, then stood over him and shot him again, several times in full view of several people on Baker Street.

Monday's shooting occurred less than a mile from a North Avenue convenience store, the scene of a shooting Sunday night. Police said that three men opened fire, but missed their target, hitting two girls ages 12 and 11 and a 44-year-old woman by mistake. The young girls were shot in the arm and are expected to make a full recovery.

During Sunday's shooting, police said that one suspect accidentally shot and wounded another suspect. The injured suspect was arrested and a short time later identified as 18-year-old Jahi Hamilton.
