BALTIMORE — A 25-year-old woman was convicted of felony Medicaid fraud on Monday.

According to court documents, Mariah Larease Moore worked for Abel Health Care, Inc., which was owned by Moore’s mother and located in Towson. Abel was an authorized provider of services to Medicaid recipients which included in-home and personal care services.

From December 2013 to February 2016, Moore fraudulently represented to Medicaid on numerous occasions that she was caring for her grandmother through Abel when Moore was, in fact, not doing so and could not have been doing so.

During that time period, Moore was working at another job located in Baltimore County.

Moore was sentenced to one year incarceration, all suspended, placed on three years probation and ordered her to pay more than $29,000 in restitution to the Medicaid program.
