ANNE ARUNDEL CO., Md. — An Anne Arundel County man has been sentenced to 40 years prison for sexually abusing a young boy to produce child pornography.

According to the Department of Justice, 56-year-old Glenn Ranger knowingly persuaded, enticed, and coerced a boy to engage in sexually explicit conduct in order to produce videos and images beginning in 2004. They say Ranger started sexually abusing and recorded the abuse of the boy when he was 7-years-old.

Ranger leased a storage unit in Pasedena and was unable to pay the rent. A resident purchased the contents in the storage at an auction in March 2018 when they discovered the nature of the contents and turned them over to police.

The unit had computers and other digital devices, VHS tapes, framed photographs, and binders containing printed and organized images of child pornography erotica. The framed photographs included five images of child pornography, including images documenting Ranger’s abuse of the young boy. The digital devices were forensically examined and were found to contain over 200 images of child pornography and more than 10,000 child exploitative and age difficult images.

Ranger’s cellphone was forensically examined after his arrest and revealed that he had visited the social media profile of the young boy, and made over 46,000 searches using terms such as “nude teen boys,” “nude teenager girl,” “nude teenager boy,” “pure nudist,” and “families nude.”

The government was also able to provide evidence that claimed Ranger sexually abused a young girl beginning when she was of 5-years-old in 1990's. The judge took the evidence into consideration when imposing Ranger's sentence.

Ranger was arrested on April 4, 2018 and sentenced to 40 years in federal prison, followed by 40 years of supervised release, for two counts of production of child pornography.
