Four people from North Carolina were arrested at City Dock in Annapolis and charged with fraud and identity theft after making suspicious transactions at a city ATM, police said.
Annapolis Police said Corionta Cooper, 20, Stephan Johnson, 26, La Mel McDougald, 25, and Jasma McNeil, 28, were each charged with three counts relating to fraud and identity theft.
Police responded to reports of fraudulent activity in the 100 block of Prince George Street at 12:45 p.m. Saturday. Bank employees said in the last couple of days, several people made multiple transactions at the ATM that appeared to be fraudulent.
While the officer was at the bank, one of the suspects entered, and he ran when the officer approached him.
The officer followed him to Dock Street, where he jumped into a parked car occupied by three others. The vehicle started to pull off, but the officer stopped the vehicle.
Bank cards, lists of names, phone numbers and bank account and personal identification numbers were found in the car.
