BALTIMORE — Nando's Peri Peri is making sure some of our essential workers have a hot meal for lunch.

The restaurant dropped off more than 600 meals to the emergency room and ICU staff at the University of Maryland Medical Center. The hospital is a main COVID-19 treatment center for Baltimore.

"It helps them feel better it helps us feel better about what we do every single day, knowing that we can get through this without the medical community putting their lives on the line for us."

The food giveaway is part of Nando’s program to provide free food to any hospital or healthcare worker in Maryland, D.C. and Virginia near a Nando’s.

Since March 26th Nando’s has given away more than 40,000 free meals.
