82 incarcerated inmates at Cecil County Correctional Facility have tested positive for COVID

CECIL COUNTY, Md. — According to the Cecil County Correctional Facility, as of Friday, 82 currently incarcerated inmates have tested positive for COVID-19.

Of those 82, 69 have reported not having symptoms for the past 10 days since their initial tests and 142 inmates have tested negative. Inmates that have tested positive are still either asymptomatic or mildly symptomatic according to medical staff.

No inmates have a fever.

The facility says that 20 correctional officers have tested positive and 8 of them are still awaiting return to work.

Inmates were tested on Wednesday, October 28 and they are waiting for results.
