Suspect flees after robbing Walmart Super Center in Sykesville

SYKESVILLE, Md. — Carroll County Sheriff's Office detectives are trying to identify the suspect that robbed a Sykesville Walmart Super Center early Friday morning.

At a little after 7 a.m., deputies were called to the Walmart Super Center that's located at 6400 Ridge Road for a robbery.

The initial investigation revealed that the suspect, who's described as being a black male in his late 40s that stands at around 5'5" tall with a thin build and a graying beard, walked up to a register, pulled out a handgun and demanded money.

The employee complied and the suspect left the store and fled the area. Detectives believe that he fled in a dark colored Chevrolet Impala sedan.

According to reports, the suspect was last seen wearing a dark blue automotive mechanic uniform, a dark blue baseball hat and sunglasses.
