ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) — Baltimore’s disgraced former mayor has pleaded guilty to perjury. Catherine Pugh pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor state perjury charge Friday. Pugh already has been sentenced to three years in federal prison for netting hundreds of thousands of dollars in a self-dealing scandal over her “Health Holly” children’s books that touted exercise and nutrition. She is scheduled to report to federal prison next week. The perjury charge relates to Pugh’s failure to disclose her business interest in Health Holly LLC on her financial disclosure forms when she was a Maryland state senator. Last year, she pleaded guilty to federal conspiracy and tax evasion charges relating to her self-published books.
