STEVENSVILLE, Md. — A small plane crashed Wednesday morning at Bay Bridge Airport in Stevensville.
The collision involved a four-seat, single-engine Cirrus SR22 aircraft.
"Upon landing, the aircraft veered off the side of the runway into a marshy area, coming to rest partially in the water," said Beth Malasky, Queen Anne's County's Public Information Manager.

Only the pilot was aboard at the time.
Despite significant damage to the plane, the pilot made it out unharmed.
"He was evaluated by emergency medical personnel on scene and declined medical treatment," Maryland State Police said.
According to Malasky, the airport runway remains in good condition.
After a brief closure, the runway reopened Wednesday afternoon.
The FAA is now investigating the cause.
This is a developing story that will be updated as more information becomes available.
