BALTIMORE — School closings are already rolling in for Wednesday, January 28, 2026 following Maryland's major Sunday snow storm.
- Anne Arundel County Public Schools - All AACPS buildings will be closed on Wednesday, January 28. A Code Red is in effect for employees. Unit V and Unit VI Central and Satellite Office employees will work remotely.
- Baltimore City Public Schools - Due to ongoing storm clean-up, schools will be closed on Wednesday, January 28, 2026. Our virtual learning school, BRAVE, will be open. Central Office will open; staff may work remotely. All essential staff must report. For schools, this will be the third of three traditional snow days that are identified in the district calendar as inclement weather recovery days in June. In the event of future inclement weather closures during the 2025-26 school year, City Schools will transition to virtual learning.
- Baltimore County Public Schools - All BCPS schools and offices will be closed on Wednesday, January 28, due to the ongoing impact of the winter storm and hazardous road conditions.
- Carroll County Public Schools - Carroll County Public Schools will be closed on Wednesday, January 28. School offices, including Central Office, will open at 10am for employees. Any scheduled activities for students on Wednesday, as well as any community use of school facilities, are canceled.
- Cecil County Public Schools - Buildings closed to students with virtual instruction.
- Frederick County Public Schools - Schools will be closed. Offices will open two hours late. If applicable, staff can take liberal leave or work remotely after speaking with their supervisor.
- Harford County Public Schools - Harford County Public Schools will be closed, Wednesday, January 28.
- Howard County Public Schools - Public schools and offices are closed on Wednesday, January 28. All afternoon and evening activities involving HCPSS students and staff are canceled.
- McDonogh School - Closed, Wednesday, January 28.
- Montgomery County Public Schools - All Montgomery County Public Schools and offices are closed on Wednesday, January 28. A code red is in effect.
- Prince George's County Public Schools - Code Yellow. All schools and offices are closed. Emergency personnel only must report to work.
- Queen Anne's County Public Schools- Schools will be closed on Wednesday January 28, 2026. Code Blue is in effect.
Talbot County Public Schools - All Talbot County Public Schools and administrative offices will be closed on Wednesday, January 28. Employees: Code Orange.
