FAA issues groundstop for Baltimore, D.C. area airports due to severe weather

BALTIMORE — The Federal Aviation Administration has issued a groundstop for airports in the Baltimore and Washington D.C. areas due to thunderstorms.

Both Baltimore/Washington International Airport and Ronald Regan Washington National Airports have been grounded until at least 5:30 p.m., because of the weather.

Strong storms are expected to impact the region this evening.

These storms could create wind damage, large hail and flooding in some areas.
