Water main break in Locust Point fixed, water service restored

BALTIMORE — UPDATE (4/24) 8:05 am : The water main break has been repaired. DPW says water service has been restored in the area.

PREVIOUS STORY:

The Department of Public Works is on the scene of a water main break in South Baltimore that happened overnight.

Crews are currently operating in the 600 block of E. Fort Avenue.

Officials say water outages and road closures are to be expected.

The stretch of E. Fort Avenue is going to be without water service from William Street to Webster Street according to DPW Acting Director Khalil Zaied.

Water service is expected to be disrupted on the 1500 block of Jackson Street, E. Fort Avenue to E. Randall Street, during this time as well.

DOT and DPW are preparing sand bags for homes on the north side of E. Fort Avenue and those are expected to be available after 7:30 p.m.

Fort Avenue will remain closed between Webster and Covington.
