Five-year-old pit bull mix Misty came to the Maryland SPCA back in February in very poor condition.
She was severely malnourished, weighing only 47 lbs. (more than 20 lbs. less than she should weigh). Her fur was thin, she had patches of fur missing and was covered in scabs.
Despite what Misty must have endured before coming to the Maryland SPCA, she trusted the medical team as they examined her and began treating her. After being stabilized there, she was sent to foster care to continue to mend and gain weight.

While in foster care, she loved all of the attention she deserved, sharing the sofa with her foster parents watching TV. Misty is housebroken and enjoys leisurely walks. She’s mastered sit and enjoys learning.
Misty has gained 18 pounds and feels great. She’s currently available for adoption at the Maryland SPCA. If you can shower Misty with the love she deserves, visit her at the Maryland SPCA.
