October is National Domestic Violence Awareness Month. According to the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence, in the United States, nearly 20 people per minute are physically abused by their partner or spouse.
The GBMC SAFE program is working to end sexual assault and domestic violence in Maryland. The program offers medical and emotional treatment and resources at no cost to the patient. The SAFE staff are specially trained and work directly with the Baltimore County Police Department.
GBMC is a proud partner of the WMAR-2 News Fill The House event. On October 17, GBMC and WMAR-2 News will be accepting donations for the House of Ruth at White Marsh Mall.
