BALTIMORE COUNTY — About Faces Day Spa and Salon is donating fifty percent of gift card proceeds through Saturday to cancer research. It is one of many fundraisers that About Faces has hosted over their 50 years of business.
The salon's fight against cancer took on new meaning last year when the company's CEO Eric Brennan received devastating news.
"He said I don't know how to tell you this but you have cancer. It's stage four and it's serious," Brennan said.
Eric stayed strong with support from family and friends but after two rounds of chemo his lung cancer was almost untreatable. That is when he enrolled in a clinical trial at The University of Maryland Medical Center. It worked and has stopped Eric's cancer from spreading.
"I hope that people in my shoes can get that same phone call and have that same path forward and really get the benefit of the science. You know all the doctors are working so hard in so many ways and they need the funding to get there and do that," Brennan said.
Again, About Faces Day Spa and Salon is donating fifty percent of gift card sales through Saturday, October 17. They have locations in Annapolis, Baltimore/Canton, Pikesville, Timonium and Towson. Proceeds will be given to The American Cancer Society and The University of Maryland Greenbaum Comprehensive Cancer Center.
