BALTIMORE< MD. — State Highway crews have been preparing for Wednesday’s winter storm since Tuesday.

Crews have pre-treated roads with salt and brine. They have up to 2,700 pieces of equipment available in the state.

With a warning on the storm, they were able to make some pre-treating plan days in advance.

The forecast predicts heavy snowfall early Wednesday during morning rush hour.

Officials are asking drivers to plan accordingly as well.

MDOT SHA said the agency will open certain park and rides for truckers traveling in the storm.

You can track the snow plows in your area through the statewide transportation operations response map or storm. It shows how many plows are out on the road and where they are in real-time.

Crews are expected to be out on the roads early this morning.
