Fisher-Price issues 2 safety recalls

A warning for parents, Fisher-Price has issued two separate safety recalls.

The first is for 34,000 infant Cradle 'n Swings. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission says if the seat peg isn't fully engaged the cradle can fall. There have already been two reports of problems, but no injuries.

The recall is for three models:

  • CHM84 Soothing Savanna Cradle 'n Swing
  • CMR40 Sweet Surroundings Cradle 'n Swing
  • CMR43 Sweet Surroundings Butterfly Friends Cradle 'n Swing

They were sold at Buy Buy Baby, Target, and other stores nationwide, as well as online at Amazon.com and other sites between November 2015 and March 2016. Consumers are urged to stop using the swings and contact Fisher-Price for a return.

The company is also recall 63,000 infant Soothing Motion Seats because they could catch fire. 36 people have reported the motor overheating, one person reported a fire inside the motor.

The recall is for Soothing Motion Seats with model numbers CMR35, CMR36, CMR37, and DYH22, as well as Smart Connect Soothing Motions Seats with model number CMR39.

The seats were sold at Buy Buy Baby, Target, Toys R Us, Walmart and other stores nationwide as well as online at Amazon.com and other websites from November 2015 through October 2017. Parents are urged to stop using the seats immediately and contact Fisher-Price for a full refund.
