Winter weather arrived in Maryland Thursday morning after a wave of warm temperatures.
Snow and rain moved across the area, causing several school closings and delays, as well as slick conditions on the roads.
A total of 2,970 flights have also been canceled due to the snowy northeast weather.

Winter weather advisories have been issued until 9 a.m. in Baltimore, Carroll, Frederick and Baltimore Counties. Kent and Queen Anne's Counties are under a winter weather advisory until 12 p.m. Cecil County is under a winter storm warning until 1 p.m.

The wet weather is expected to dry out by by 9 a.m. State Highway Administration officials urge caution on the roads.
