As of 11am Saturday, Jose is a Category 1 hurricane with max sustained winds at 80mph.

Jose will remain over the warm waters south of the Gulf Stream the next couple of days, allowing for the storm to maintain its intensity, if not strengthen slightly. A few of the models do have Jose reaching category 2 hurricane strength in the next 48 hours.

The National Hurricane Center keeps Jose offshore as it moves Northward. However, high surf, rip currents and beach erosion are concerns at our area beaches through midweek.

In Baltimore, more clouds and breezy conditions are expected as Jose passes offshore. A few showers are also possible, especially closer to the coast.
