Although tropical depression #8 is close to home - #9 is the one to watch. Current forecast take this system out to sea, but there is an opportunity for this system to get hung up along the coast, which could create a problem with beach erosion, high surf and potentially high winds as well.
This potential is based on the placement not only of TD # 9 itself - but a high pressure cell anchored over the Atlantic. This high could "block" the system from exiting into the Atlantic - forcing it to straddle the coast or possibly make landfall along it.
It may be a stretch, but with so much model disagreement, every possibility has to be considered at this point. Be sure to keep up with the tropics here.
